Students & Schools

Queens United Ambassadors have hosted co-ed introductory chess lessons and established 11 chess programs at elementary schools. Ambassadors have impacted more than 300 students through chess instruction alone, and over 550 youth in the Chicago area at local chess tournaments and events.

Queens United Ambassadors

Since 2019, the Queens United Chess Team has grown to over 30 female Ambassadors. Our team leads introductory chess lessons, weekly Girl Power Club meetings, and activities at local chess tournaments.

Weekly Girl Power Club

Queens United Ambassadors led a total of 9 weekly Girl Power Chess Club meetings from April-June 2021, and 17 more from December-June 2022, connecting 36 girls in K-8 across the city.

CPS Chess Queens

In Winter 2021, Queens United Chess joined forces with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and Renaissance Knights Chess Foundation to develop the CPS Chess Queens Initiative. CPS Chess Queens is a year-round program intended to empower female chess leaders, foster an inclusive and engaging environment for girls, and expand the chess community. Learn more here.
